Why Volunteer?

The Ottawa Folk Festival is a non-profit organization and relies on the generous support of its volunteers and sponsors in order to survive. There are many different roles and responsibilities that require volunteer support, especially during the summer Festival, held each year in the middle of August. Volunteering for the Festival provides the unique opportunity to:

  • Support a local, non-profit arts organization
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • Meet new people
  • Experience a world-class music festival
  • Students can use these hours to fulfill their Ontario Volunteer requirements

Online Volunteer Applications Are Now Available

Apply now to volunteer through our new online system! We're happy to announce that applications are now being processed online, and paper applications are no longer necessary. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers to get involved in the organizing fun.

  • Please go to the MyVolunteerPage.com home page
  • Enter your user name & password to sign in and view your volunteer profile
  • We have already entered your contact information into the database, and ask you to update the rest of the application information (e.g. profile, volunteer preferences etc.)

Early Bird Volunteer Draw!!!

As a thank you to volunteer applicants for this year’s 15th Anniversary Ottawa Folk Festival, we are holding two draws for a free CD and a $40 Gift Certificate from Carmello’s Italian Restaurant!!

There will be one prize draw for volunteers that have already applied (to thank you for your patience as we make the transition!), and there will be one draw for the first 100 new volunteers that apply online through the system! Sign up now and get in on the fun!!!
